Abstract (EN)
The Covid-19 pandemic has deeply affected various aspects of life in Turkey, as it has worldwide. Particularly, the healthcare sector has faced significant challenges during this period. In addition to these challenges, the effects of the pandemic on patients' treatment processes and psychological well-being have been a major cause for concern. In this context, this cross-sectional study conducted by the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine aims to comprehensively analyze the specific effects of the pandemic on gynecologic oncology patients. During the research process, the experiences of patients during the pandemic, changes in their treatment processes, and the impact on their psychological well being were extensively examined. To assess these aspects, a specialized questionnaire consisting of 23 questions was prepared to measure patients' experiences and emotional responses. Additionally, the Gynecologic Oncology Index Scale was used to identify the physical and psychological challenges experienced by patients during cancer treatment. The Beck Depression Inventory was also employed to measure their overall psychological status and levels of depression. This study aims to comprehensively elucidate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on gynecologic oncology patients. The findings obtained are of critical importance in understanding the potential long-term effects of the pandemic on this patient group and optimizing treatment processes accordingly.
