Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the mental and physical health and life satisfaction of teachers working in schools of the Ministry of National Education in Gaziantep. A survey was conducted using mental and physical health scales. It is a four-point Likert-type scale. When comparing more than two independent groups, the results of Anova and Tukey comparison tests for normally distributed variables and Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn comparison tests for non-normally distributed variables were evaluated to determine the scale scores for participants' mental and physical health and life satisfaction in relation to the variable "time for sports at home". It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the scale scores. In the pairwise comparisons performed to understand from which independent groups the difference originated, it was found that the scale scores for participants' mental and physical health showed significant differences in all groups. On the other hand, it was found that the participants' life satisfaction scale scores were not significant between the participants who "never" exercised and those who exercised "one day per week", but the difference between all other groups was significant. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the mental health, physical health and life satisfaction scale scores of the participants in relation to the variable "daily internet use". According to the pairwise comparisons between the independent groups, the mental and physical health scale scores of the participants whose "daily internet use time during the Covid 19 pandemic period" is one-three hours are significantly higher than the scores of the participants who have four hours or more. It was found that participants' scores on the life satisfaction scale differed significantly between all groups. It can be said that there is a significant difference between participants' scores on the Life Satisfaction Scale in relation to the variable "the most frequent leisure activity at home during the Covid 19 pandemic period". It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the participants' mental and physical health scale scores in relation to the variable "the most frequent leisure activity performed at home during the Covid 19 pandemic period". Regular physical activity is recommended to protect mental and physical health and improve quality of life.
