Abstract (EN)
In this study, the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the levels of depression and anxiety in university students was examined. Furthermore, the differences in depression and anxiety levels were examined according to the certain demographic variables. Results were discussed with the findings in literatüre. Additionally, it was aimed to make suggestions to increase the well-being of university students with depressive symptoms and high anxiety levels due to the effect of the pandemic. The model of this research is the relational screening model. The research population consisted of university students living in Turkey. The sample consisted of 500 students randomly chosen among university students living in Turkey. Sociodemographic Form, Beck Depression Inventory and Beck Anxiety Inventory were applied to the study group participating in the research. SPSS 21 program was used for data analysis. As the data were normally distributed, "Parametric Tests", "t-test" and "One Way Anova" tests were used. The hypotheses of the research were examined by correlation analysis. According to the mood-affecting variability of covid 19, the results showed differences in the levels of depression and anxiety in the relatives of the patients diagnosed with covid 19. A positive correlation was determined between depression and anxiety. While 75 people showed signs of severe depression, 111 people were found to have symptoms of severe anxiety. These results were discussed in the light of literatüre.
