Özet (EN)
The new coronavirus disease first appeared in December 2019 and the pandemic it created still continues (July 2023). Along with the pandemic, researchers conducted studies both in the field and in the laboratory to prevent, understand, control and develop treatment strategies for this disease. It is important at this point to understand the immune and antibody response interactions that occur as well as the pathogenesis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. In addition to processing basic information about the proliferation, pathogenesis, immunology, immunopathology, transmission, clinical course, diagnosis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2, within the scope of my thesis, the antibodies in the serum of the patients infected with COVID- 19, taken from the acute and expected recovery phase of the disease, It was aimed to reveal whether there is a relationship with the pathogenesis of the disease. Patients diagnosed as COVID-19 positive by RT-PCR were grouped as asymptomatic, mild, moderate, severe and mortal. Patients with comorbidities were also given. Samples were stored in appropriate volumes at -80 0C. Rapid Test was used for IgG and IgM antibody detection and ELISA methods were used for anti-RBD antibody measurement. Data of 84 patients were processed. While anti-RBD was found in asymptomatic and mild patients, it was not detected in some, and anti-RBD titers were elevated in almost all hospitalized patients. Anti-RBD antibody titers were also increased in mortal and intensive care patients. As a result, antibody titers increased in proportion to the pathogenesis of the disease. However, there was no correlation between the presence/titers of anti-RBD antibodies and recovery or disease prevention.
