Abstract (EN)

This study is conducted to examine the anxiety effects of COVID-19 disease on healthcare workers. COVID-19 is a virus that has caused a worldwide pandemic and is a major source of stress for healthcare workers. The aim of this study is to present basic information such as the structure, symptoms, transmission routes, diagnostic methods and tests of COVID-19. COVID- 19 is a respiratory infection that usually presents with symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headache and fatigue. Transmission routes include droplet contact, close contact, and infection after touching surfaces. Among the diagnostic methods, PCR test, antigen test and antibody tests are used. Anxiety is a psychological state in which a person tries to cope with feelings of uncertainty, threat, or anxiety. In the study, the types of anxiety and the characteristics of COVID-19 anxiety will be examined. Concern about COVID-19 has been associated with factors such as the spread of the virus, the risk of being infected, and the concern of healthcare workers infecting their families. Anxiety levels among healthcare workers have increased due to the effects of the pandemic on the healthcare system. Healthcare workers are exposed to the risk of infection because they are in contact with patients, which can increase their anxiety levels. In addition, factors such as highworkload, lack of resources, lack of information and personal protective equipment can trigger anxiety in healthcare workers. In this study, sociodemographic information form, Spielberger State and Trait Anxiety Scale and Coronavirus Phobia Scale will be used as data collection tools. The sociodemographic information form will evaluate the demographic characteristics, professional experience and exposure of the participants during the pandemic process. The Spielberger State and Trait Anxiety Inventory will be used to measure the instant and trait anxiety levels of the participants. The Coronavirus Phobia Scale will be used to assess participants' specific level of fear or phobia towards COVID-19. The results of this study will contribute to our understanding of the anxiety levels of healthcare professionals about COVID-19 and to the development of appropriate interventions to reduce this anxiety.
