Abstract (EN)
The Covid-19 epidemic, which emerged in the Wuhan province of China and affected the whole world, has not only negatively affected human health, but also reshaped the demands and needs of the consumer. Research on consumer behavior during the pandemic should be evaluated outside of traditional models. Consumer behavior examines consumers' purchasing patterns in the market and analyzes the factors that influence these purchasing behaviors by evaluating the market conditions in which they operate. The main question of the research is the change in consumer and savings behavior after Covid-19. It examines the changes in consumer purchasing behavior during the epidemic, the direction of changes in consumer behavior during epidemics and disasters, and what developments or negative effects the epidemic brings to the consumer market. For the purpose of my study, the survey method, which is a type of quantitative research, was used. In my study, 500 participants from across Türkiye filled out an online survey using a survey form. In the first part of the survey, there are 6 questions that determine the socio-economic level of the participants. In the second part of the survey, consisting of 19 questions, the survey forms in the Tomris Örs study (Örs, 2021) and the questions in the financial literacy survey developed by OECD and INFE were used. The data was transferred to the program and analyzed. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) and Bartlett tests for factor analysis, complementary statistical analysis, total variance explained, rotated component matrix and anavo test were performed. In the consumer's purchasing behavior during the pandemic period, emotions such as panic, fear and uncertainty do not lead him to unnecessary shopping, and when the statistics of the answers given based on this are looked at, it is seen that the consumer does not buy more products or stock up on products due to the fear that there will be no products left during the pandemic period. Because the consumer wants to protect himself from uncertainty and for this reason, consumption decreases and savings increases.
