Özet (EN)

Mechanical behaviors of resolved joints composite plates were investigated by using both experimental and numerical methods. Four layered laminated composite plates, consisted of epoxy matrix resin reinforced uni ? directional carbon fiber were used. Connection type double lap pin joint was used. The effects of fiber orientation angle, ply arrangements, geometrical variable and failure load variation on the mechanical behaviors were investigated. Variation of fiber orientation angle and ply arrangement were analyzed in the symmetric ([0o/?o]s) and anti-symmetric ([0o/?o]2) laminae configurations. Fiber orientation angle, ?, varies from 0o to 90o with 15o increments. The distance of the free edge of the plate (E) to the diameter (D) of the hole (E/D= 1 ? 5) and the width of rectangular plate (W) to the diameter of the hole W/D= (2 ? 5) were used as the parametric geometrical variables. Numerical study was performed by using prograssive failure analysis method by preparing three dimensional element (Solid 46) with ANSYS finite element programme. In the numerical results, initially, APDL codes were written and then these codes were run in ANSYS program and satisfactory results were obtained. In the prograssive failure analysis method, Hashin failure theory was used with material property degradation rules. Results of numerical and experimental analysis showed that the variation of mechanical behaviors depended on the geometrical parameters, fiber orientation angle and ply arrangements. It is seen that (E/D) geometrical variable is the most important parameter which affects the failure fomation and types. Obtained results from numerical and experimental studies were presented with graphs and required discussions were done. Agreement between the results of numerical and experimental study was well-matched with the those in literature. Keywords: Laminated composite plates, Fastened joints, Finite element method, Prograssive failure analysis method.
