An investigation of the children's books series called Les Goûters Philo in terms of root values

In this research, it is aimed to examine and present the books in the Les Goûters Philo series in terms of 10 root values (justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness) that are common in the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education. Acquisition of values does not only cover a certain period. As with character development and moral development, acquiring values continues throughout an individual's life. In this process, children's books play one of the major roles in imparting values. With this research, it was aimed to draw attention to the place and importance of this technology in the Les Goûters Philo books, without taking into account the fact that children have begun to be transferred both by the family and in schools and that value education can be done through the books in the values they are trying to acquire. In addition, these books can provide convenience to families and teachers when teaching values to children; In this respect, it is thought that Les Goûters Philo books can serve as an example in the context of values and can be used in values education by teaching them at home and in schools. The document analysis method, one of the qualitative research models, was used in the research. The data source of the research, which will be based on the relevant literature review, consists of 25 children's books in the Les Goûters Philo series. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data in the study. The purpose of descriptive analysis is to organize and interpret the findings and provide information to the reader. Considering the research results, the children's book that includes the most root values is Justice ande Injustice; the children's book with the least amount of space is Really and Fakely. In the Les Goûters Philo series, all the root values are included; the most frequently mentioned root values are responsibility and self-control; It was concluded that the least mentioned root values are patriotism and honesty. Therefore, it has been concluded that "Les Goûters Philo" books can be used to transfer root values.
