Determination of technique echievements in some vegetables harvesting in Cukurova region and developing of prototype leek harvester

In this study, the harvesting applications of some vegetables, namely tomatoes, cucumber, eggplant, squash, lettuce and leek grown in Cukurova Region were observed in detail. In observations, different arrangements of harvesting teams were faced. The aim of this study is to develop a mathematical model for contriving the harvesting teams according to demands and different conditions. In addition, the possibility of machanized harvesting was investigated.At the end of the research, a suitable modeling method which can form harvest teams was developed. Through these models, harvesting crews can be contrived easily electronically, according to different conditions and demands. Leek and lettuce are the suitable vegatables for mechanized harvest by reason of they can be harvest in one go. A machine which can pull out the leek plant was planned and manufactured in the context of a San-Tez project.
