Appreciated as economy and market place of marble mines at Çukurova region

Prof. Dr. Mustafa AKYILDIZIn this work, production technologies, market state and economy of themarbles at Cukurova Region was investigated. During this work, marble productioncompanies was interviewed, information about their production was taken andobserving of the production facilities were taken. The physcical and mechanicalproperties of the marbles produced at Cukurova Region and the marbles that comesfrom other regions are compared. The origin of the marbles at was produced atCukurova Region was appeared to be limestone marbles. According to these resultsexport of the marbles was produced at Cukurova Region is very low when comparedto the marbles, come from other regions. Generally the marbles produced atCukurova Region are used in this region and marbles are requested in Turkey.Keywords: Cukurova Region, marble, production technology, economyII
