Mapping of important biotophes along the coastal zone between Tuzla and Yumurtalık nature conservation area on Çukurova delta

In this research, it is aimed to map important biotopes around Akyatan&Ağyatan Lagoons on Çukurova Delta, Through the research area 33 different biotopes are determined during fieldwork and observations. At the stage of determining biotope types, so as to supply the harmony with the principles of European Union Natura2000 Program, papers and manuals are examined and mapped according to Altan et.al.(2001). During the research around the delta anthropogenic effects, degeneration and regeneration potentials have been examined by comparing with the previous studies, actual landuse and the distribution of different biotopes have been evaluated with Geographical Information Systems. At the end of the research from the point of the feet that existing important habitats, dunal and saltmarsh-saltmeadow areas are decreasing and are being converted to agricultural lands day by day, complete protection-use principles have been tried to gather.Key Words : Biotope Mapping, Akyatan Lagoon, Ağyatan Lagoon
