Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of different cover types and open field grown on earliness, yield and quality of Early Cardinal and Yalova İncisi grape cultivars were investigated. In the present study, grapes grown under perforated and bird net cover types were compared. The earliest maturity was obtained from the grapevines grown under perforated plastic cover. For both types of grapes, when the open field and covered grown were compared, for earliness, 16 days was achieved in plastic cover, 14 days in perforated plastic cover and 2 days in bird net. While the total yield was found to be the highest in open field grown for the Early Cardinal type no significant difference was observed in the total yield of Yalova İncisi in terms of the different grown techniques. While the lowest values for the size of clusters was observed in the Early Cardinal, the lowest value for the Yalova İncisi was obtained in open field grown. As for the Early Cardinal, in terms of berry weight, plastic cover, bird net and open field grown displayed similarities, while no significant difference was observed in the various grown techniques for the Yalova İncisi. Finally, it was also identified in the study that the plastic and perforated cover could be used with a fixed ventilation opening of 25 %.
