A research on the breeding for technical and structural characteristics of broiler and layer farms in Çukurova region (Adana and İçel)

The long site position ofthe poultry houses were north-south side at high region and east-west side at low region.Broiler houses were mostly use hybrid chicks of foreign orijin and mortality wasfounded 4-5% in one period. The stocking density of broilers were 15-16 birds/square meter,the amount of feed intake for a broiler were 3,6-4,0 kg and the avarage live weight was 1,9-2kg at 42 days of age.The layer houses in investigated area have mostly used triplex cage, a number ofthe hens which are put on in a cage were 4-5 hen, avarage egg production capasity for onehen was gerater than 300 eggs for one year.The avarage of highest temperature (in Broiler 30,2 ºC and in layers 29,6 ºC) andrelative humidity (in Broiler 66,9% and in layers 68,9%) in the poultry houses were found inAugust.The main problems of the all breeders in our region are animal materials, feeds,disease, marketing, education and high temperature problems.It should have settled an organization which based on technic and economic amongproducers, feed producers, marketing organizations and state foundations related to theanimal production.
