Tombstone words of republican period -İzmir/Menemen example-

People's life span primarily makes up with tree periods namely birth, marriage and death periods. Of theese death is the last session. Brith and death are the parts of life as far as death. People would need to bury their deaths not only for respect but also fort he belief of afterlife; therefore they made and create grave cult. Apart from this stones would be erected on head and feet side of grave not to lead confusion or not to lose them, after that they draw several words and figures onto them; finally grave stone and grave stones says tradiation came up with. This ressearch includes grave stones which is known from Republic period of Turkey located in Menemen, İzmir in addition it is made up by grave stones says were found and classfied, also inspecting as well as their creating and choosing processes. In this research. All datas were recorded by video cameras and voice recording beside this observation and interview technics were used. The purpose of this research is to support the science world in this less-known area by investigating the grave stones says both style, form and concept from the date of announcement of republic to now on. Research includes introduction, three sections, conclusion, quote references, bibliography and additions, in introduction part; topic of research, its area, purpose, used technics and ways geographical features of Menemen town, its historical background, and basis terms are mentioned. In first part the process of grave stones says its concept, cliches grave stones says and the perspectives of masters are studies via interviewing grave stones masters or supervisors. In second part; idioms and proverbs, poetries and literature arts are observed. In the third part of research, grave stones which was founded are studied in the case of conception of the says.
