Historical progress of The Turkish Naval Academy at the period of republic

In the following reseach, The Turkish Naval Academy, which is almost the only source providing members to the regular officers corps of the Turkish Navy, has been explained in terms of changes in academic program trough the years. Additionaly, manegment of the academy, educational system, trainees and the methods of selection of students have been explained. Aims of The Turkish Naval Academy, sources of student, manegment of academy, programs of training, training of foreing language, academic staffs, the laboratories, engineering branches, fields of education and training, sea training, sports activities have also been explained. The data collected during the research have been evaluated by the historical method and literature study have been made for this purpose. At the end of the research, the effects on the improvements of the Turkish navigation, roles that The Turkish Naval Academy plays on this reason and importance of the Turkish Naval Academy on training of naval officers has been emphasized. The Turkish Naval Academy have to renew its educational system and academic programs in terms of the current innovations in the world and make cooperation with other universities about the academic studies.
