Mass housing - politics relationship during the Republic period: case of ankara

Along with the Industrial Revolution, a period with social, economic and political differences began in Turkey, in a parallel development line with the western countries. During this period effecting the living conditions of communities directly, the shelter fact emerged as an important problem because of the internal migrations, and the problem was tried to be resolved by mass housing. Along with the shelter problem, the production of mass housing, which was agreed as an urban metropol living model, was turned to a political tool effecting the development of all of the cities.Within the scope of this research, production of mass housing is studied through the case of Ankara, within the process of its development till present day, related with the politics.Key Words : Mass Housing, Politics, Republic Period, Ankara
