Republic's policies of forming citizenship (National Education Committees)

By evaluating the general features of Atatürk period in Turkey, this study suggests that the most obvious characteristic of that period in education was republican education. For this purpose, we explore the general educational characteristic of Ottoman Empire and then identify the most striking characters of Turkish National Struggle for Independence and the early Republic in terms of educational developments. In my research, the politics of national education in Atatürk period, citizen consciousness and its development in Turkey have been studied and the research has been finished by bringing together Atatürk's views on edication under titles. Ast to the last chapter, after trying to clarify the policies of forming citizenship by examining the national education committees it was ended by evaluating rhe speeches of ministers of education and the decisions of the committees.
