Abstract (EN)

It is so crucial for Kütahya tile-making, which has given unique examples of Turkish art pieces since the end of 14th century, so as to keep its contemporary condition updated and documented as well as its production process and the contributions of the ateliers and the experts and/or artists to those processes.To this aim, this study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, history of the city of Kütahya, its geographical structure and the historical development of Kütahya tile-making is narrated along with the illustrational samples.The second includes the tile-making techniques peculiar to the city, raw materials, motifs, designs and compositions. By considering the 14th century, the third chapter chronologically discusses the contributions and the costs of the ateliers and the experts and/or artists. Finally, the conclusion part comprises remarks and suggestions regarding the arguments obtained during the research.
