A Research on songs from the republic today's

11 ABSTRACT In this study, a research has been carried out on the songs that are in the books which have been written for the teaching of music at schools since the establishment of the Republic. With this purpose, 4493 songs with repetitions and 2551 without repetitions have been analyzed in the study. First of all, the music books written at every decade after 1923 have been identified, the subject of the songs in these books are compared to the sociological developments of the country during those years. Then 30 schools composers of the songs have been identified. At first, the CVs of these composers have been dealt with, then their songs have been analyzed m terms of the subject and scales ( diatonic, modal or makam) and ranges. In the third chapter, identifying all the scales notation used at least in two songs has been shown. In the last chapter, it has been identified that which composers have preferred these scales and which subject are carried out in the songs that have used these scales.
