Abstract (EN)
In this study, the subject of culture will be discussed as a philosophical problem and a general introduction to the place of culture in human life will be made from the definitions of culture. In the first part, after defining the subject, the process of the formation of cultural philosophy will be mentioned in accordance with the relation between the existing culture and philosophy. Cultural manifestations will be studied in different worldviews. The first part focuses on the relationship between human culture and values, and will discuess the main reasons for the changing perception of culture in today's world. The second phase of the study will focus on Islam and cultural forms, especially on the role of Turkish Islamic culture as an identity builder in aesthetics, architecture, art and philosophy. In Islamic societies, it will be noted that culture is a living element and that it is the bearer of the tradition that has been going on for centuries. In chapter three, Mehmet Doğan's views on culture will also be addressed to the contemplationers who are influential in the process of forming his ideas. Based on the ideas of Doğan and the historical processes of the changes that have been experienced with westernization until today, this chapter aims to see the gains and the losses of Doğan on the occasion of the diagnosis and determination. In human life, it is possible to say that to analyze a subject, it is necessary to read and understand historical changes and developments well. In this context, the definition of culture concept from past to present will be examined and changes or developments will be reviewed. The events in the social field, that results from Westernization which has turned into an ideology, and the manifestations of the cultural field according to the language, religion, philosophy, aesthetic perception of the societies will be analyzed with the help of Mehmet Doğan's ideas. The theoretical part of this study is based on the close reading of Doğan's works while the practical part has been completed by conducting interviews with Doğan. This study aims to provide a factual account of history, and as such, aims to create a cultural memory. In the conclusion part of the study, which can be expressed as an overview, the original sides of Mehmet Doğan in today's cultural approaches and his proposals against the westernization thesis will be discussed.
