Analysis and comparison social studies program applied in Denmark and Turkey

Abstract (EN)
In this study, The Danish Education System, Social Studies Program of Denmark and Turkey anf the objectives, content, teaching-learning process and evaluation dimensions of the courses within the scope of Social Studies Program are compared in terms of similarities and differences. From the results of this comparative study of education is intended to develop and to make the education system more qualified and social studies program in both Denmark and Turkey.This study is limited in class levels within the scope of the courses in Social Studies Program and the Social Studies Program which is applied in Odense of Denmark. The document analysis technique which is one in qualitative data collection methods, is used in the search. The documents are obtained about social studies program which is the basis of research reaching the country?s Education Ministery sources. In addition to data collection, the researcher is visited the school to make one to one interview by the teachers on subjects.According to the results of analysis of the data, these findings are reached:?Denmark Education System carries local impacts as different from Turkey in terms of issues such as the decisions taken in the field of education in Denmark, the school system, shortening or the length of lessons hours , the choice of textbooks.?As ?Subject Network-Project Centred Aproach to Program? is implemented in Denmark Social Studies Program, The Spiral and Expanding the Enviromental Design is also implemented ?? in Turkish Social Studies Program.?Learning areas of Social Studies Program are connected with each other in Denmark and Turkey and is felt content in acquisition. The subjects which is mainly about the European Union relations, terrorism and multi-culturalism are mentioned in Denmark's Social Studies Program.?The acqusitions are placed in Denmark's Social Studies Program at the level of each class under the title of specific objectives. The acquisition are placed within the framework of the areas of learning of Social Studies Program in Turkey. Both countries have overlapping acquisitions within the framework of special goals.?It is given in area of learning; unity, activities and explanations about acquisition and activities within the framework of the learning area in Turkey's Social Studies Program at every class level. It is seen association between lessons in Danish Social Studies Program.?Turkish Education System have three objectives as the Turkish Minister of Education objectives, general objectives the program level and special objectives. Danish education system also have similar objectives, but the program level objectives of the Danish are divided into two as "Slutmal" and "Delmal ".?The general objectives of education system is to train an effective citizen in both countries, but the concept of democracy is mainly emphasized in the general objectives of Danish Education System, It has been seen that the Principles of Ataturk are emphasized in Social Studies Program in Turkey and it aims to train citizen within the framework the state's ideology.?Denmark and Turkey Education System is based on student-centredness and it carries the similarities in terms of the method and technique, assessment and evaluation tools.?In the Danish Education System don?t have examination until the level of 9 class,. In Turkey the students must have written examinations and oral examinations at every class level.Key Words: Social Studies Program, Comparative Education, Denmark Education System, Program Development
