Darulelhan Notati̇on Corpus Anatoli̇an folk songs translati̇on of books si̇xth and seventh i̇nto modern Turki̇sh

In the Ottoman Empire, especially the method of transfer with method of mesk has been used. This method is important because of its permanency. In Ottoman Empire, music has been seen as a daily part of life. Especially, such as in house chats, in religious rituals and in communities such as weddings, method of mesk has always been there. In the Ottoman period, the sources of written music works were quite restricted. With some note system studies, works were noted down. However, in the late 19th century, with westernization movements and the spread of the usage of Western notation, there has been an increase in works which were written. In addition, in time, institutionalization of music education has occured. In Mevlevihanes, tekkes, coffeehouses, taverns, home meetings, with music communities such as in Enderun-i Humayun, Mehterhane-i Humayun, Muzika-i Humayun, music education has continued. From the announcement of Tanzimat in 1839 until the period of Selim III, the Ottoman Empire started to carry out new reforms in the sense of westernization and the education methods of the modern West has been taken as an example and the education system has been reshaped. Darulelhan is an important institution because it has been a place where students has studied in the last period of the Ottoman Empire and the first years of the Republic of Turkey and the institution is the first official music school. At the same time, compilation and publishing activities were done in Darulelhan. Moreover, for the first time Anatolian Folk Songs were compiled and published in this institution.
