The effect of behavior management family training program to mothers' behavioral processes gaining

IV SUMMARY General purpose of this study is to determine if mothers can acquire the needed concepts and procedures as a result of the implication of family training program presented by Direct Instruction Method aiming managing the behaviours and also if mothers who acquired the needed concepts and processes can control the inappropriate behaviours at home and lessen them. The design used in this study is "AB design" which is one of the single subject experimental designs. The subjects of this study are six of the mothers of mentally handicapped children are the students of Private Barış Special Education Center and one of those mothers who has gained the needed concepts and processes to control the behaviours as a result of implication of the family training program voluntered for video recording at home of her and her child. To collect the data family interview form, scatter plat record, anectodes record, video-camera, television, target behaviour record form, reinforcement determination form, concept related criterion reference test and process related criterion reference test were used. During the experiment process of the study, before the implication of the family training program, the baselines of the concepts and processes of the family training program which aimed to be gained by the six mothers were determined (A). After determining the baselines of the mothers', six sessioned family training program were implied to them (B). After the completition of the implication of family training program the mother with the needed concepts and processes to control the behaviours as a result of the implication of the family training program voluntered for video recording andimpered the treatment program to her child by using these gained concepts and processes after the determination of the baseline data. Before this implication the mother's child's inappropriate behaviours' at home and its incompatible behaviours' baseline were determined. Graphical analysis were used in evaluating the obtained data. The findings are as follows; At the end of the implication of the Family Training Program Presented by Direct Instruction Method to Control the Behaviours, mothers involved in the study realized all the sub-purposes of the concepts and processes in the study. As a result, The Family Training Program Presented by Direct Instruction Method to Control the Behaviours given the impression that the concepts and processes in the program can be gained. -Mother number I given the impression that by using the concepts and processes gained by the implication of the family training program, lessens the inappropriate reading-writing behaviours and increases the appropriate reading- writing behaviours of her child.
