The place of Debreli Abdulkarim Efendi's work called Mizânü'l-Hurûf ve Şifâü'l-Ebdân in tecvid literature

This study examines the purpose for which Debreli Abdülkerim Efendi wrote his commentary work called Mîzânü'l-Hurûf ve Şifâü'l-Ebdân on Karabaş Tecvidi, the style and method with which he conveyed tajweed subjects, the sources he used to reconcile his work, and the subjects he handled that were different from the work he had commented on. This research consists of two parts; in the first part, general information such as the subject, purpose and ruling of the science of tajweed is shared, and a general evaluation of tajweed literature is made, and the features of the prominent works in history that distinguish them from their contemporaries are briefly touched upon. The second section covers the life of Abdülkerim Efendi, his scientific personality, works, teachers, language and style, and the way he handles the tajweed topics in his work. In addition, this section also touches on different topics he covers in his work, apart from the Karabaş Tecvidi commentary. The thesis study is concluded with the conclusion section, where the findings are expressed.
