Abstract (EN)

Putting his combat against decadence into the center of his philosophy, the German thinker Friedrich Nietzsche criticized many institutions and defined them as decadence. The "decadence" concept and the criticisms He made against the moral and cultural system of his time nearly a hundred years ago are central to this study. This study aims to make a critical analysis of the contents of the postmodern media culture in the context of the concepts and arguments of Nietzsche against the cultural and moral structure of his time. To this end, the first part of the study examines the basic concepts of his philosophy .The second part of the study deals with the nine outstanding names of the postmodern philosophy as the complements of his perspective. By deeply scrutinizing these philosophers' criticisms against their own time, the necessary theoretical ground was formed for the third part of the study. In the third part, which is the analytical frame of the study, today's postmodern media discourse and contents were analyzed in detail, and possible decadence situations and items were tried to be identified. The target media program contents were analyzed by discourse analysis and semiotic methods. Layering technique was used. Semiotics was utilized while analyzing semiotic systems in the visual media, and discourse analysis was used for the analysis of verbal and textual contents. Key Words: Nietzsche, decadence, postmodernism, media, culture, morality
