THESIS DEFPOS Ha DATA INTENSITY CALIBRATION Nazım AKSAKER DEPARMANT OF PHYSICS INSTITUTE OF NATURAL APPLIED SCIENCES UNIVERSITY OF ÇUKUROVA Supervisor: Prof.Dr.İlhami YE?İNGİL Year:2004, Pages:72 Jury: Prof.Dr.İlhami YE?İNGİL Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vedat PEŞTEMALCI Asist.Prof..Dr. Veysel POLAT DEFPOS has observed Ha emission from 4,76°x9° of square area with a 4,76° field of view and 1200 s integration time. In zenith direction, the first Ha emission has been obtained on 30 October 2002 and from than on, it has been made observation in 33 nights and analized many of these data. Since DEFPOS observes zenith direction, In order to calculate intensity caliration in Rayleigh we have used WHAM data having 1° angular resolation and a 12 km/s velocity resolution for same region. By comparing both results, the intensity of DEFPOS has been determined. In near future, beside HII region in the Milkyway, we would be able to investigate geocoronal Ha and sky intensity variation of TUG more accuracy. In this stud}-, it is explained how to do intensity calibration of the spectrometer and its first results.
