Abstract (EN)
In this research, the effects of values-education based creative drama program on social skills are studied under the following categories; Interpersonal Skills (IS), Anger Management and Adjustability Skills (AMAS), Coping with Peer Pressure Skills (CWPPS), Self Control Skills (SCS), Verbal Expression Skills (VES), Accepting Consequences Skills (ACS), Listening Skills (LS), Goal Setting Skills (GSS) and Task Accomplishment Skills (TAS). In 2015-2016 academic year, the research group is constituted by 24 children, 5-6 year-old, who studies in kindergarten of Gültepe İlkokulu that represents middle socio-economic level in Küçükçekmece, İstanbul. The data related to the research is collected via using Social Skills Evaluation Scale (SSES). The scale is implemented as pretest and posttest to experimental group and control group. The values-education based creative drama program carried out to experimental group children two days per week and the whole program lasted for twelve weeks. The data obtained from this research is analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Whitney U-test on SPPS 15.0 program. The findings show that implemented values-education based creative drama program and Social Skills Evaluation Scale (SSES) to evaluate social skills have an impact in favor of experimental group in Interpersonal Skills (IS), Anger Management and Adjustability Skills (AMAS), Verbal Expression Skills (VES), Self-Control Skills (SCS), Task Accomplishment Skills (TAS) and Accepting Consequences Skills (ACS). However, there is no difference found between control group and experimental group in terms of Coping with Peer Pressure Skills (CWPPS), Goal Setting Skills (GSS) and Listening Skills (LS).
