Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYIn this study, antimicrobial susceptibility of P. aeruginosa strains isolatedfrom various sources and their ability for formation of biofilm were investigated. The materials of this study were 200 milk samples obtained from cows withmastitis, swaps from the ears of 25 dogs with otitis externa, 1 swap sample from acat with pyometritis, 2 swaps from cats with an infected post operative scars. Inaddition, 3 samples of tap water taken from cith water lines and 5 urine sampleswith urogenital infection were also used as materials.Five strains of P. aeruginosa were isolated from 200 milk samples withmastitis (2.5%), Swaps samples from 25 dogs with otitis externa also had 2positive samples (8%) and 1 urine sample from 5 urine samples obtained frompatients with urogenital infection. But none of the samples taken from tab waterand cats samples had P. aeruginosa positive results. All of the P. aeruginosa strains were found to be sensitive to enrofloxacineand gentamicine. The biofilm formation ability of 8 isolated strains were found as 4 strains(++++), 2 strains (++) and 2 strains did not have the ability of biofilm formation. It is concluded that due to P. aeruginosa is considered to be as zoonoticagent the necessary attention should be given for this agent.
