Abstract (EN)

In this research, two different slags, silica fume, cement, and stainless steel wastes were used as components of mortars. Many samples were prepared by using different mix designs and a series of experiments were carried out to determine the physical and mechanical properties of these samples in order to investigate the effects of binder type and metal character. In light of the findings, it was determined to what extent the wastes contributed to the properties of the mortars and the reasons of the microstructure studies were investigated. Since silica fume has a thin and specific surface area than cement, it has shown more effective behavior in filling pores. The effect of silica fume has been noticeable in terms of improvement in strength. Many cement-based composites and waste materials have been produced in the literature and their effects have been determined by experiments. The originality of this study is to investigate the physical and mechanical effects of slag having different chemical content obtained from the same place on the mortar. It is promising for the industry to support the recycling of waste materials, the emergence of new areas of use and the reduction in production costs.
