Özet (EN)

Plastic reinforced composite materials are important in transporting and structure areas for strength and lightness. Although the manufacturing industry develops modern machining processes, it is still a machining process used in general because of the economic and basic applicability of conventional drilling method. The drilling process has generally been used in defending, aeronautic and automotive industry. In this study, drilling performance and hole quality were investigated in different cutting parameters, drill types and diameters, composites with different reinforced and thickness. The drilling experiment was performed in 125, 250 and 315 rpm cutting speeds and 0.056, 0.112 and 0.16 mm/rev feed rates by using HSS, TiN and carbide drills with 5, 10 and 15 mm diameters. The different reinforced composites were used as work piece material in the experiments. It was determined that the surface roughness on the machining surface also increased, as the speed and feed rate increased. The results taken from view of the surface roughness by the drills with the small diameter were higher efficient. It was found while the surface roughness increased by HSS drills, it decreased by TiN and carbide drills and the quality of the best machining surface was obtained when carbide drills used. İn addition, the photographs of speciments were taken under the SEM and surface roughness behaviors on these photographs were investegated.
