Abstract (EN)

Cancer is the most important disease affecting millions of people around the world. As a result of research, dozens of different types of cancer have been defined. Prostate cancer is among the most common cancers. A good understanding of the biochemical and genetic parameters of this cancer plays an important role in the development of treatment methods against prostate cancer. In the treatment of cancer, it has become important for researchers to test two, three or more of the active substances that can have anti-cancer effects together in recent years. One of the most important advantages of such applications is to minimize the emergence of drug resistance. Docetaxel, a taxane group chemotherapeutic, has an antitumoral effect through stabilization of microtubules by inhibiting tubulin depolymerization in prostate cancer. Anti-cancer studies with deinoxant obtained from the cell wall of Deinococcus radiodurans bacterium showed that it has pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative effects. Within the scope of the thesis, the anti-cancer and anti-proliferative synergistic effects of Docetaxel and Deinoxanthin on Prostate cancer cell line (PC-3) were investigated. In this context, as a result of applying separate and combinations of substances to cell culture; The expression levels and protein levels of BAX, BCL2 and CASPASE 3 genes were investigated by RT-qPCR and ELISA methods.
