2. ABSTRACTThe Effects of Anti-NGF Administration on The nflammatory Responseand Apoptosis In Rats With Experimental Sepsis Model. We planned this study to search the role of NGF in sepsis.Material and methods: After the approval ethic komitee of the faculty 33Wistar Albino rat were seperated four groups randomly. Sepsis was induced in threegroups except group I (control group) by injecting LPS of E.coli to intraperitonealregion anti-NGF is performed intraperitoneally. In groups III one hour before LPSinjection and in group IV after sepsis was clinically observed. TNF-α, IL-10, IL-18and NGF levels were measured in 0, 2, 12, 24 and 72 hours in blood samples. Therats were sacrificed at 72 hours and apoptosis was evaluated in liver, lung andintestine. Data was analysed by One-Way ANOVA, Tukey HSD, Kruskal Walis,Mann Whitney U, Paried Samples T test and Wilcoxon analysis.Result: TNF- level increased significantly at 2 hours in the sepsis group whencompared with the control group. IL-10 level started to increase at 2 hours in groupII and IV; and at 12 hours in group III when compared with the control group, therewas a significant increase in group II and IV. In sepsis groups IL-18 level increasedbut when compared with control group the increase was not statistically significant. When compared with the control group NGF level increased at 24 hour in group II.Apoptosis increased in all groups and tissues compared with the control group. Bcl-2increased in control group and bax staining is significant in sepsis groups. Conclusions: NGF levels increased in sepsis and after performing anti-NGFthere was an increase in proinflammatory response and apoptosis, according to thesefindings we conclude that NGF have antiinflammatory effects.Key words: Sepsis, NGF, TNF-α, IL-10, apoptosis2
