Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effects of different sewing thread types and different washing types to the seam performance were researched. In the research, a denim fabric was chosen as material. Experiment samples were sewed with 3 different sewing threads (Polyester/polyester corespun, polyester/cotton corespun and polyester filament) at the same linear density and 3 different washing processes (Rinse, enzyme and stone with enzyme) were applied. Titan Universal Testing Machine was used for the seam strength, fabric strenght and elongation, seam slippage tests. Also, seam shrinkage was tested. Seam strenght, fabric strenght and elongation measurements were evaluated as dependent (response) variables. Sewing thread types and washing types were taken as independent variables. Multivariate General Lineer Model was applied by using SPSS 15.0 software package and so effects of selected independent variables on the response variables were evaluated as statistically and results were interpreted.
