Abstract (EN)

Maritime transportation is an important element of international trade. In order for the maritime transport to operate smoothly, it is necessary to regulate the maritime traffic. Vessel traffic services have emerged as a product of this need. The ergonomic conditions of the working areas of the vessel traffic service operators should be improved in order to manage the maritime traffic and to avoid any disruptions. In this study, it was aimed to examine the working areas of vessel traffic service operators from an ergonomic perspective. It is thought that this study will contribute to the literature as it is one of the first studies focusing on the ergonomics of vessel traffic service operators who are constantly on the computer. In this study, questionnaire which is one of the quantitative research methods was applied. As a result of the survey, the analyzes were performed through SPSS for Windows v25.0 package program. According to the findings obtained from the research, vessel traffic service operators stated that the applications in the workflow, lighting and table usability are good and ventilation is in bad condition. There is a positive and significant relationship between the workplace and equipment and the overall assessment of the workplace. Finally, the work area and equipment positively influence the overall assessment of the workplace.
