Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to analyze the effects of irregular migration through Turkish territorial waters on Turkey, Turkey's fight against irregular migration, national and international legislation on irregular migration, Turkey's migration history, Turkey Europe migration routes, It is a quantitative study that examines irregular migrants apprehended/rescued while migrating through Turkish territorial waters between 2015- 2023, migrant smugglers, nationality distribution of irregular migrants, migrants who lost their lives, human trafficking, migrant trafficking, provinces and districts where irregular migration is concentrated in Turkey and the routes frequently used by migrants. As a result of the researches, it is seen that there are serious migration flows towards Turkey. The number of irregular migrants captured/rescued especially in Muğla, Çanakkale, İzmir, Aydın, Balıkesir, Antalya, Edirne is quite high. This study aims to investigate the irregular migration events in the Aegean, Mediterranean, Black Sea and Marmara Sea in depth, especially the migration events in the Mediterranean Sea are analyzed in the national and international context.
