Abstract (EN)
A limited number of studies have been conducted in the literature regarding the study of the adaptation of the Integrated Platform Control and Monitoring System (IPCMS) on human. Considering the gap in the literature in this field, it is of great importance to discover the Integrated Platform Control and Monitoring Systems used in ships and to determine the factors affecting the use of these systems. The main purpose of this study is to explain the Integrated Platfrom Control and Monitoring System in the maritime industry and to examine the factors affecting the use of this system used in ships. Many theoretical models for the acceptance and adoption of technology have been developed to date. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is widely used to predict the adoption of technology in different areas and to explain the use of new systems. In the literature review, it has been observed that the studies carried out to examine the acceptance of the use of the Integrated Platform Control and Monitoring Systems are limited. In this context, an integrated model has been developed for IPCMS by adding new variables to the Technology Acceptance Model. In the research model; perceived benefit, perceived ease of use, intent, attitude, real use, demonstrability, and business compliance. In addition, demographic factors were also included in the model in order to demonstrate the effect of the demographic characteristics of the participants on perceived benefit and perceived ease of use. Demographic factors integrated into the model; the user's age range, educational background, professional experience, course viewing status and study section. As part of this research, it developed models to describe supported by data collected in Turkey working on ships 247 ships questionnaire was administered to him. The data obtained as a result of the research was analyzed with SPSS 25 program. As a result of the research, the attitude variable towards the use of IPCMS has a positive effect on the intention to use; it is concluded that the perception of benefit variable has a positive effect on attitude and intention towards using technology. It was also explained that the variables of business compliance and demonstrability had a positive effect on perceived benefit. It has been observed that the department where the user works and the level of course viewing does not differ significantly for the perceived benefit variable. Educational status, professional experience and age range were evaluated to show a significant difference in the perceived benefit of the users. This research extends the work done for the Integrated Platform Control and Monitoring System. System designers can be guided by the findings obtained in the research.
