Özet (EN)
In this study, cytotoxicity of dental materials which are frequently used in dental restorative dentistry, (resin modified glass ionomer cements, composite cements and restorative composites) are determined. In vitro biocompatibility researches are based on these three basic goals:1-Determination of in vitro biocompatibility of composite cements and restorative composites which are cured using two different ligth curing units (Light Emitting Diod, LED and Halogen).2-Determination of in vitro biocompatibility of preliminary resin modified glass ionomer cements (RM-GIC).3-Effects of hydroxyapatite addition on biocompatibility of resin modified glass ionomer cements (RM-GIC) based on in vitro biocompatibility results of preliminary resin modified glass ionomer cements (RM-GIC).During in vitro biocompatibility studies, extraction method is used and results are evaluated using MTS test. Surface morphology of samples are examined with scanning electron microscope (SEM). For statistical analysis SPSS statistical program for Windows 15.0 is used. Results are evaluated in 95 % confidence level and p<0.05 significance.According to our experiments, commercial hydroxyapatite (THA) powders? cytotoxicity are higher than cytotoxicity of synthesized hydroxyapatite (SHA) powders (p<0.01). In composite material group, it is found that materials cured using LED ligth curing unit are more biocompatible than materials cured using halogen ligth curing unit. Composite materials are found to be more biocompatible than resin modified glass ionomer cements (RM-GIC). 4% synthesized hydroxyapatite (SHA) powder additon into resin modified glass ionomer cements (RM-GIC) makes these cements more biocompatible. Dual curing makes materials more biocompatible than ligth curing. According to these results, most biocompatible material in composite group is Rely X Arc, in resin modified glass ionomer cements (RM-GIC) group is Photac Fil Quick.
