Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study aim was to investigate the effect of self-adhesive resin cement on microtensile bond strength using five desensitizers with different mechanisms. Materials and Methods: Dentin samples obtained from 60 human third molars were used in this study. Except for the control group, five different desensitisers (Biflorid, Teethmate, Gluma, KF, Shield Force Plus) were first applied on dentin. Then, 2 mm high resin cement (Panavia SA, Kuraray Notrike, Japan) was applied. A 1 mm2 sample was obtained with a universal cutting device (Micracut 152, Metkon, Turkey), and microtensile bond strenght (μTBS) was applied to the bond surfaces of the samples using a universal microtensile testing device (Bisco, Schaumburg, USA) at a speed of 1 mm/min. Data analysis was evaluated with Kruskal Wallis-H, Mann Whitney-U, and Bonferroni tests (p=0.001). Results: A statistically significant difference between the groups treated with Biflorid, Teethmate, Gluma, KF, Shield Force Plus and the control group was observed only in Shield Force Plus (p<0.001) and it was determined to have the highest μTBS value. The lowest value was seen in the KF group. However, it was not statistically significant when compared with the control group (p>0.001). There was no significant difference in μTBS values among Gluma, Teethmate, Biflorid, and KF (p>0.001). Conclusions: According to the results of the study, the application of a resin-containing desensitiser before cementation significantly increases the bond of self-adhesive resin cement. However, HEMA, calcium phosphate, potassium nitrate and fluoride-containing desensitisation agents do not affect the bonding of resin cement to dentin.
