Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the structural features of steel prefabricated structures, their usage rates in our country and around the world and why they should be used were investigated. Steel structures are resistant to earthquakes due to their light and flexible structure. Due to these and many other features, the houses in our country, where a large part of the surface measurement is located in the earthquake zone, should be made with steel prefabrication. Because it has been proven as a result of many studies in the literature that these structures were not destroyed or survived by earthquakes, and they have been taken for granted by countries that are advanced in disaster management. Turkey ranks seventh in the world in steel production, and this is not reflected in the building sector. Although it is promised by our managers that we will now build steel construction housing after every major earthquake, this situation cannot be realized due to a number of reasons. When it comes to the reconstruction process after earthquakes, it is necessary to construct steel construction buildings instead of the destroyed or heavily damaged buildings. This strategy will be able to lay solid foundations in restructuring, which is the last step of crisis management, and support studies in the mitigation phase, which is the first step of risk management. In this context, a fully integrated disaster management cycle can be established.
