Names of the clothes in collation dictionary

The most important traces of human history are hidden in language, which has been used as the most effective tool in the expression of emotions, thoughts, dreams and wishes throughout history. Language; providing agreement between humans or living things in a superficial structure; in its deep structure, it is a system that reflects the magical world, history, culture and way of life of people with all its aspects. The branch of science that studies this system is linguistics. Linguistics is a broad field of science that investigates the elements of the internal and external structure of the language, examines the relations between languages, and has inseparable ties with many different branches it is in contact with. One of the important sub-branches of linguistics is onomastics. In this field, it deals with all the namings in the outside world and the systematics of these namings. In this field, there are many sub-naming fields such as place names, water names, animal names, character names, plant names. One of these areas is the names of clothes, which is one of the basic needs of human beings. While the names of clothes initially responded to some basic needs of people such as dressing and protection, over time, they took a special form enriched with accessories, as well as adorning and dressing for special days and occasions. In fact, the way people dress for the periods has gained a distinct identity by gaining a fashion feature. In the present study, the nomenclatures of all kinds of clothes and accessories/accessory objects in the Derleme Sözlüğü have been handled and classified according to their characteristics. This study aims to reveal the names of clothes used in folk dialect in detail and to contribute to the studies on the names of clothes in Turkey and to our cultural richness.
