Opinions and thoughts of dermatologists and other physicians on dermatology

The aim of this research is to determine the opinions and thoughts of dermatologists and other physicians about dermatology, and to determine the reasons for the increasing interest in dermatology in recent years and the factors that affect physicians' branch selections. In addition, it was aimed to determine the assignment status of dermatologists and other physicians regarding the pandemic during the Covid-19 pandemic process. The study is a descriptive and cross-sectional survey study and questionnaires developed by the researcher were used as data collection tool. Frequency and percentage of descriptive statistics were used in the analysis of the data. Chi-square test was used to determine the difference between variables. In the study, it was determined that physicians, and especially female physicians, were highly interested in dermatology. In addition, dermatologists were found to be highly satisfied with their specialties and more than other physicians. It was found that the most effective factors in choosing a dermatology branch were that dermatology was a comfortable branch, dermatological diseases were rarely life-threatening, controllable working hours, and a controlled lifestyle. Although dermatologists were satisfied with their specialties, it was determined that their desire to become a physician again was low. In this case, it was thought that the long and intense working conditions of physicians and the increase in risky situations such as violence and malpractice in health were effective. There was no difference in the rate of appointment of dermatologists and other physicians during the Covid-19 pandemic process, but it was found that other physicians were assigned longer and more in the pandemic intensive care unit.
