Musical analysis of the life, art and works of the Dertli Divani

The Kısas District of Şanlıurfa is one of the place that to be lived intensely the tradition of minstrelys in Turkey. That is known; from ancient history to the present a lot of minstrel have been growed up in this place. One of the lovers who was born in Kısas and continues this tradition of minstrelsy in today's century is Dertli Divani, whose real name is Veli Aykut. The Dertli Divani not only produced new works with the tradition of playing and singing the poet, but also contributed to Turkish Folk Music as a compiler and composer. The minstrel was awarded by UNESCO in 2010 as the "Treasure of People Living". Then, the Divani who wanted to share his experiences with people founded Mekteb-i Irfan community in 2011 and reached thousands of people with this community. In addition to the concerts he performed individually, he gave concerts with the Mekteb-i Irfan group on various platforms both in Turkey and abroad. It is seen that Divani, who played an active role in promoting and keeping Turkish Folk Music alive, still exerts great effort towards this goal. As a result of the researches, it was determined that there were only 3 works of belong to minstrel in the TRT note archive. In this study, 28 folk songs of which the lyrics and music belong to him, which were included in the 6 albums that Dertli Divani has released so far, have been addressed. These folk songs were noted from existing recordings and musical analyzes of the works were made. While performing the musical analysis, the sound fields of the works, their navigational features, sequences, and measurement structures were tried to be determined. The richness of the works considered in the study, especially in the style, in the modal and navigational structures stand out. Again, Arabic and Persian words were used in the works, and it was observed that the phrases belonging to the Alevi-Bektashi creed were mainly used.
