Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the this study is to analyze the Descartes' ethical view who is one of the most important philosophers of seventeenth century. In the first chapter, we have investigated philosopher?s view about the method, physics and metaphysics as a background of the ethics. In the title of metaphysics we have discussed subjects of the existance of the soul, the dualist approach of the philosopher about spirit and body, the concept of God and proof of the existance of the God and external world. In the second part, we have attempted to explain the ambitions and how they emerged from communication between the sould and body as a two seperate subjects, their types, their effects and way of controlling them in ethical sense. In the third section, we have studied of thinker?s view of ethics which he put forward in his books and in various times. In this section of the title, we have discussed concept of the will taking a major place in the conception of ethics of philosopher. We have examined the rules of provisional moral code and competent morality of the philosopher by making detailed analysis of similarities and differences between them with the concepts of morality that is wisdom, happiness and virtue. And finally we have touched on the social dimension of Descartes? ethics. In the conclusion, we have tried to reveal Descartes's concept of ethics in relation to the results achieved in this study.
