Özet (EN)

On-board chargers (OBCs) in electric vehicles (EVs) must provide more power in a smaller volume to increase the volume allocated to the battery. Increasing the power density of the OBCs largely depends on the improvements to be made in the AC-DC Power Factor Corrected (PFC) converter, which is its most important part. The main purpose of this thesis is to increase the power density of AC-DC PFC converter. For this purpose, two different solutions are presented. In the first of these, a dynamic voltage compensator (DVC) has been proposed to reduce the amount of output voltage ripple of the interleaved PFC boost converter that affects the size and lifetime of the DC-link capacitor in OBCs. Along with the reduction of the amount of the voltage ripple, it is possible to use capacitor technologies with a smaller size and longer life. In this way, the designed OBC will have a high power density and long service life. In the second of the presented solutions, a new soft-switched AC-DC PFC boost converter is proposed to increase the power density. In the proposed converter, thanks to the developed active snubber cell (ASC), switching losses are eliminated by providing soft switching (SS) for all switching elements. In addition, the developed ASC did not cause any voltage and current stress on the circuit elements. These two proposed topologies are the best candidates for the AC-DC conversion part of OBCs due to their advantageous properties.
