Özet (EN)

Due to the increase in the population of the world, and also, due to the pollution of available fresh water on earth along with the lack of optimizing water consumption, the world is facing a clear shortage of water. Using water treated from the water consumed in urban regions for domestic purposes has been the target of research for many years. This kind of research is particularly important for semi-arid countries like Iraq. The purpose of this research is to make use of the treated water outflow resulting from the already constructed plant, and going on in expansion, for irrigation purposes. The system that conveys water for irrigation to the areas in demand is performed by means of designing a network and performing the necessary calculations through computer programs. In order to reach this target, the necessary available computer programs were obtained and put to use. The water currently resulting, and will be produced in the future, from the treated wastewater will be used for irrigating agricultural lands in the southwest of Erbil city as well as six parks (green lands) in the city centre; all will be conveyed through a pipe system network project that is optimized using different computer programs. Keywords: treated wastewater reuse, water reuse, water networks, Erbil, irrigation using treated water.
