Abstract (EN)

An optimization study on hybrid seven bar press mechanism is presented in this thesis. The programmable motion is achieved by using hybrid idea previously. This study is based on a project performed on hybrid mechanisms. A planar hybrid seven bar linkage is implemented for press design previously. Its dimensional synthesis is performed to get optimum link lengths. The seven link mechanism is required to pass from some precision points during deep drawing operation. Dimensional synthesis is performed by using kinematic constraints of the mechanism. Optimization study is performed by using genetic algorithm (GA). Genetic Algorithm is used with Matlab® Optimization Toolbox. Later GA-fmincon is performed as a hybrid manner. Dimensional synthesis is applied while designing of the hybrid seven bar press mechanism. Positions of the seven bar mechanism with precision points are drawn for both GA and GA-fmincon, and compared.
