Abstract (EN)
Character recognition is a general name for converting letter characters in image files into text files by using image processing and machine learning algorithms. In this thesis the success of support vector machines on the problem of character recognition is studied. In addition, the situation and the success of the system are studied when the samples are expressed with less component then using principal component analysis and independent component analysis. For this purpose; firstly, information about support vector machines, principal component analysis and independent component analysis are given. After that, the results of the applications are compared and evaluated. Keywords: Character Recognition, Support Vector Machines, Principal Component Analysis, Independent Component Analysis
