Abstract (EN)
In this study, flood risk assessment especially Çapakçur Creek in Bingöl Province Center was investigated using hydraulic and hydrologic models. 3D terrain modeling and determination of floodplain areas have been done the GIS software of ArcGIS 10.1, and hydraulic models has been realized by using Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) 5.0.3. All the topographic data obtained, have been transferred to the HEC-RAS which makes hydraulic analysis using HEC-GeoRAS tool. It is used, 1/1000 scale topographic maps of the region with 1 meters elevation differences for contour lines to prepare TIN map (Triangulated Irregular Networks) that is the primary data for hydraulic and hydrologic modeling. The computed values of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 years were included into the hydraulic model, and the water levels corresponding to the same recurrence intervals have been determined and flood risk maps have been prepared by transferring the results to ArcGIS using HEC-GeoRAS. This study will provide risk assessment for development plans.
