Abstract (EN)
Metal organic frameworks, a new class consisting of metal bound points and organic bridge ligands, are hybrid materials with highly adjustable features. In recent years, metal organic frameworks have been used extensively in applications like loading and releasing of many drug molecules. These structures have been observed to play a quite active role in carrying the drugs due to their extremely high surface are and large porosity diameter. Remarkable features of the MIL and UMCM metal organic frameworks class, for instance wide pores (25-34 Å), exceptional surface areas (3100-5900 m2/g) and the ability to combine functional groups in the lattice provide a great advantage for drug transport. Moreover, high structural flexibility properties hosted by these groups can provide porosity adaptation according to the shapes of the settled molecules. In this study, the structures of organic metal structures suitable for drug transport will be examined firstly based on structures of MIL-101 and UMCM-1, which are metal organic frameworks; effectiveness of these structures in drug transport and compatibility for human body will be clarified and it will be investigated how an ideal metal organic framework for drug transport should be. Key words: organic metal lattice structures, drug transport, toxic properties
