Özet (EN)
In the world, 1556 species belonging to 161 genera have been identified in the Aleyrodidae family so far. Insects belonging to this family affect plants negatively by absorbing plant sap and being a virus vector. B. tabaci is one of several major insect pests that inflict widespread crop damage. The Middle East-Asia Minor (MEAM1) and Mediterranean (MED) B. tabaci genetic groups are the most common cryptic species. Cyantraniliprole is a new anthranilic diamide insecticide and resistance to this insecticide has not yet been reported in many important pests. In this study, the potential for resistance development of B. tabaci MED and MEAM1 genetic groups against cyantraniliprole was investigated. In addition, it was aimed to determine the development of cross-resistance of each genetic group against pyriproxyfen, spirotetramat, and acetamiprid insecticides. For this purpose, the study was carried out between the years 2021-2022 at Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection, Department of Entomology Laboratories. To determine the resistance development and cross-resistance against cyantraniliprole, the LC50 values of B. tabaci MED and MEAM1 genetic groups against cyantraniliprole, pyriproxyfen, Spirotetramat, and acetamiprid were calculated separately for each genetic group and then each genetic group was selected six times separately with cyantraniliprole. At the end of the selection, the LC50 values of the selected populations against cyantraniliprole, pyriproxyfen, spirotetramate and acetamiprid were determined again. At the end of six selections with cyantraniliprole, 1.7 and 1.85-fold resistance was found in B. tabaci MEAM1 genetic group GS500 and GS250 populations, respectively. For the MED genetic group populations KS500 and SS250, a 1.3-fold resistance was found in each population. Although a very low resistance was observed in B. tabaci MED and MEAM1 genetic groups against cyantraniliprole, the development of resistance was found to be insignificant. No cross-resistance to pyriproxyfen, spirotetramat and acetamiprid was observed in the MEAM1 genetic group. In the MED genetic group, cross-resistance development was observed against pyriproxyfen, but no cross-resistance development was observed against spirotetramat and acetamiprid. According to our results, it was determined that insecticide formulations with cyantraniliprole active substance can be used in rotation with pyriproxyfen, spirotetramat, and acetamiprid in the control of B. tabaci. The obtained data will be a useful reference for future monitoring and management of insecticide resistance.
